Urgent Care Practitioner (UCP)

A UCP generally comes from a paramedic background; they have undergone additional academic qualifications, usually at university which enables enhanced skills in medical and psychiatric assessment, examination, investigation and referral. They are trained to recommend a course of treatment for the supervising clinician to prescribe. Some UCP’s can prescribe.

  •  Wound closure
  •  acute on chronic long term conditions
  •  ENT
  •  neuro
  •  respiratory
  •  cardiac
  •  abdominal
  •  andrology (some practitioners still require support and assistance with some presenting problems).
