We have received a lot of requests for weight loss injections in the last few months, these drugs cannot be prescribed by clinicians working in general practice. There are other ways to seek support for weight loss - via City of York Council, the NHS programme (see below) or we can refer to Healthwise or Tier 3 weight management services where appropriate.
The NHS Digital Weight Management Programme supports adults living with obesity who also have a diagnosis of diabetes, hypertension or both, to manage their weight and improve their health.
It is a 12-week online behavioural and lifestyle programme that people can access via a smartphone or computer with internet access

Nimbuscare would like to invite you to discuss the York Frailty Crisis Response Hub a Frailty Service that has been piloted for the past 6 months. The service recently received ongoing funding to further develop and expand the service. The next phase of the service will be launching at Nimbuscare over the coming months.
The evening will be hosted by Christine Marmion, Community Services Integration Lead who would like to provide you with an overview of this service, listen to your thoughts and hopefully get some feedback.
As highlighted at previous meetings, we would really like to engage with our patients from an early stage to assist and support with service shaping and development.
Within the Frailty Service we will be collaborating with colleagues across the health and care system including St Leonards Hospice, Age Uk and Adult Social Care.
We have booked the Community Café at Acomb Garth on Monday 22nd July, 18.00hrs – 19.30hrs, we will be supplying a buffet and refreshments, we would love to see as many of you attend as possible.
Please contact the team to advise of your attendance and any special dietary requirements or otherwise by Monday 15th July - nimbuscare.feedback@nhs.net
