The vast majority of prescriptions now go ETP, this means there is no green piece of paper, and the prescription is sent electronically, direct to a nominated pharmacy.

How to order your repeat prescription

SystmOnline: This is a very convenient way of managing your prescriptions and you can add notes for a clinician if needed. Please follow the link to the right for ‘Online Patient Services’ to find out how to register for this service.

NHS App: You can download the app here (Apple) or here (Android) and easily request repeat prescriptions or update your nominated pharmacy

By phone: You can call to order your prescription 24hrs a day via our dedicated Prescription Phone-line. Press Option 1 and then you will be guided through the process.

By post: Please use the tear off slip attached to your prescription.

In person: Most of our surgeries have a “Repeat Prescription” post box inside the front door or in the Reception area. During the Covid-19 pandemic we are discouraging our patients from using this method and would ask that you use the phone prescription line if you do not have online access.
Given Covid-19 related workload, prescriptions can currently take up to 5 days to be processed and send to your pharmacy. Please ensure you order in good time.

Electronic repeat dispensing (eRD)

We have a new service that is useful for patients that are on stable, long term medication. Electronic repeat dispensing means you only have to request your medication once a year. It will automatically be sent to your pharmacy every four weeks without you having to do anything. Our prescribing team are working hard to get appropriate patients signed up to this. If you are interested in this service, please contact the surgery to discuss further.

Medication review

Even continuous medication needs to be reviewed periodically by one of our clinical pharmacists or GPs. You will be advised when ordering your medication if a review is due. You will be able to request a medication review by using our the prioryCARE online system (choose medication review tile) or by phoning the surgery.

Prescription queries

If you have an issue with one of your medications or want to discuss continuing a short term medication, please choose the medication queries tile on the prioryCARE online system or phone us.
